We offer the full range of services related to hydropower projects, in all phases of design and execution. We both develop projects for clients and work as designers for EPC contractors. We engage ourselves as early as the pre-feasibility study and are ready to follow through to the operation & maintenance phase of a project. We provide the civil, mechanical and electrical engineering services required to execute a complete package, without the client having to coordinate a multitude of engineering firms.
During the design phase, we are used to also coordinating with environmental and social experts to ensure the project is implemented considering all safeguards and making the project socially viable.
We provide services that include both greenfield projects as well as the extension of existing projects.
Hydropower projects typically include dam engineering, most commonly arch dams, RCC dams and CFRD dams. In many cases, our underground team is involved in headrace tunnel, pressure shaft, underground powerhouse cavern, underground transformer cavern and tailrace tunnel design and construction. Projects may also comprise only a limited amount of underground work and involve only a dam, an intake, a steel penstock and an above-ground powerhouse, though such options are more common in hydropower projects of less than 100 MW capacity or in relatively flat terrain.
Our approach to project development is to focus on key elements in each phase (risk-based breakdown) and adapt the level of detailing to the scope and data available in each stage.
